Community Forum with City Councilperson Rebecca Kaplan
January 4, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Councilmember Kaplan along with community activists, groups and organizations are co-sponsoring this meeting in City Hall, Council Chambers – 3rd Floor.
The purpose of the forum is to discuss possible SOLUTIONS to safe and affordable housing, homelessness, and jobs in Oakland. We will have people from different organizations speak about work they are doing to address these issues, and we will welcome suggestions from the community about possible solutions.
We understand there is pressing need to address all of these issues, and we hope to have a fruitful discussion/brainstorming session about ways we can help increase affordable housing, alleviate homelessness, and increase gainful employment for people in Oakland.
From Laura Holtan with Rebecca Kaplan’s office:
“Kaplan is holding a community forum to discuss housing issues and our response to the Ghost Ship fire on January 4, 2017, from 5-8 PM in Council Chambers. The forum will address housing, homelessness, and jobs, and will be focused on solutions. We’d love for you to come and bring folks.”
Kaplan is at-large and is the friendliest Councilmember to our cause. The Council Chambers can hold a lot of people. Arrive by 4:45pm so that we may be in order by 5:00pm. Speakers please remember to fill in cards before 5:00pm.
